KeyFlow is a Chrome extension designed to help users stay focused and productive through focus modes, custom keyboard shortcuts, and wellness tips. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains how KeyFlow handles information.

KeyFlow does not collect, sell, or share personal data for tracking or advertising purposes.

The extension may store limited user-provided information locally or transmit it only when explicitly entered by the user, as described below.

User-Provided Information

During the optional onboarding process, KeyFlow may ask for:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

This information is voluntarily provided by the user and is used only to improve communication and onboarding experience.
It is submitted directly by the user and not collected automatically.

KeyFlow does not access browsing history, web content, or personal files.

Local Storage

KeyFlow uses Chrome’s built-in storage API to store:

  • Custom shortcut names and keys

  • User preferences (such as onboarding completion)

This data is stored locally on your device and is not shared with third parties.

Data Transmission

KeyFlow does not track users.

Data is transmitted only if the user explicitly submits information during onboarding (such as name or email). No background data collection occurs.

Permissions Explanation

KeyFlow requests the following Chrome permissions strictly for functionality:

  • storage – to save user preferences and custom shortcuts locally

  • commands – to enable keyboard shortcuts

  • notifications – to display mode and wellness notifications

  • tabs / activeTab / scripting – required for reminder and mode-based functionality

These permissions are never used for tracking or surveillance.

Third-Party Services

KeyFlow does not use:

  • Analytics services

  • Advertising networks

  • Tracking pixels

No user data is sold or shared with third parties.

Children’s Privacy

KeyFlow is not intended for children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Security

All locally stored data remains on the user’s device. Reasonable measures are taken to ensure data is handled securely within the extension environment.
